Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The lease of communication vault space is an ongoing general fund budget item in the Sheriff's budget. Funding has already been appropriated for this purpose in the Sheriff's FY09/10 budget and funding will be requested in the Sheriff's budget for this purpose through FY2017/18.
Background: The Sheriff has been leasing radio vault space at the Mt. Danaher Lookout for a number of years to enable radio communications within the Department and outside agencies.
Reason for Recommendation: On 4/07/2009 your Board signed the Communications Vault Lease #655-L0911 with the State of California, Department of Forestry and Fire Protection for the term covering 03/01/2009 through 06/30/2018. The wording in the Board agenda item incorrectly referenced the contract term as 03/01/2009 through 07/01/2017.
Action to be taken following Board approval: None. Procurements & Contracts has established Blanket Purchase Order BP291020 with the correct ending date, but requested that the item be brought back to your Board as an advisory item only.
