Reason for Recommendation:
The Library installed Tech Logic software and hardware at the El Dorado Hills Library in 2006 to facilitate Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) self-check stations. Since that time, the Friends of the Library have purchased RFID tags and have completed the installation of the tags in the Main Library.

This contract is for the purchase and ongoing service agreement with Tech Logic for the computer equipment, software license, and related items to implement self-check at the Main Library, as well as software upgrades to the system supporting the Library in El Dorado Hills. The accompanying budget transfer will provide funding for the first year costs of the system. Ongoing costs will be funded from the Library's operational budget.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. The Department will notify Procurement of the Board's approval of the agreement and send the signed original to the vendor.
2. Vendor to install equipment and train staff.
