DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Given that the new Public Safety Facility houses a shooting range, the opportunity has arisen affording the Sheriff’s Office the ability to receive additional revenue through the removal of expended brass, cartridge and lead scraps. Action Target Inc., is experienced and willing to provide onsite services to remove this scrap while ensuring that the Sheriff’s Office retains a portion of the salvage value.
It is projected that Action Target will generate revenue for the Range facilities as follows:
1. Brass shell credit. Customer will receive 54% of the copper price (per pound, brass shells received) that is published on The London Metal Exchange for the day Customer schedules the Service.
2. Steel Trap lead credit. Customer will receive 45% of the lead price (per pound of range lead received) that is published on The London Metal Exchange for the day Customer schedules the Service.
3. Rubber berm trap lead credit. Customer will receive 39% of the lead price (per pound of range lead received) that is published on The London Metal Exchange for the day Customer schedules the Service.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This is a revenue generating agreement with no cost to the County. As this if the first time the County is entering into such an agreement, staff are unable to anticipate the amount of anticipated revenue.
