Body
DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND
Construction of the Intersection Safety/Sight Triangle Improvement Project (Project) will improve sight distance at five intersections along Pleasant Valley Road. Earthwork, minor ground disturbance and minor vegetation removal are expected within the existing roadway footprint to install warning signs. Minor utility relocation/right of way acquisitions will be needed for the improvements at the intersection of Cedar Ravine Road.

In order for the Department of Transportation (Transportation) to research title records and prepare for negotiations with the subject parcel owners, Transportation is requesting authorization from the Board to proceed with the ordering and payment of title reports and certified appraisals for the land rights to be acquired.

Transportation is also requesting the Board authorize Transportation to enter into negotiations with the owner, or designated representative, of the parcel listed herein as related to the Project and appoint Tanna Reynoso, Associate Right-of-Way Agent (or designee) as the real estate negotiator on behalf of the County.

ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose to not appoint a real estate negotiator and acquire the necessary parcel, which would not allow the Project to proceed.
