DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
After a competitive procurement process, on May 13, 2016, the County entered into a five-year Agreement for Services with Bank of America, N.A., for the provision of banking services (4/5/2016, Item #13). This agreement will expire on May 23, 2021, and the County is currently engaged in the procurement process once again. This request is to ensure there is no lapse in banking services.
Due to the importance of County-wide banking services, it is necessary for the Treasurer Tax Collector Department, in concert with Procurement and Contracts, to carefully review and analyze the proposals that are submitted in order to select the best qualified bank to meet the needs of the County and the special districts we assist. The current vendor is willing to extend their contract to afford us the time to perform the due diligence necessary.
