DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On October 13, 2020, the Board received a presentation from Facilities and the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) on the status of the rebuild of the South Lake Tahoe El Dorado Center. The Board directed staff to continue to explore alternative locations that ultimately would result in savings to the County by not having to do a complete tear down and rebuild of a new facility. Facilities and HHSA have found an alternate location and would like to enter into negotiations with the property owners.
The property located at 585-591 Tahoe Keys Boulevard has ample space to house not only HHSA programs, but other County programs that are currently in leased space. The space has ample parking and the potential for a South Lake Tahoe County campus.

The Board could choose not to enter into negotiations.
