DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On March 25, 2020, the Purchasing Agent executed Agreement for Services No. 4681 with More 4 Less Pest Control for a two-year term and a not-to-exceed amount of $70,000. Services provided under this agreement include routine and emergency on-call pest control services at various County operated locations.

Emergency on-call services have exceeded projections (particularly bed bug issues) and additional compensation is needed so that services remain available throughout the term of the agreement. There are no other changes to this agreement.

In accordance with chapter 3.13, Section 3.13.030, the Board is also being asked to make findings that it is more economical and feasible to contract out for the necessary services as the work is not expressly identified in County job classifications and requires specialized certifications. Additionally, the contractor will provide the equipment, tools, and materials related to providing the work that the county may not feasibly provide.

ALTERNATIVES
The Board could decline this amendment and the Division will have limited ability in addressing pest control issues.
