Background:
On July 1, 2008, the AQMD Board of Directors awarded Funding Agreement (Agreement) No. 010-DMV-08/09-BOS to El Dorado County General Services Department (General Services Department) in the amount of $25,000. This funding was to supplement the State Transportation Improvement Program -Transportation Enhancements (STIP-TE) grant of $295,000, previously awarded to General Services by the El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) on February 7, 2008, for engineering and construction of El Dorado Hills SMUD Corridor Class I Bike Path.
Several months ago, the County Board of Supervisors approved the elimination of the General Services Department and the operations and maintenance functions of the County Parks and Trails were absorbed by DOT. During the past few months, DOT has reorganized and recently created a new Facilities Engineering Division, which has been assigned the Parks & Trails planning and design functions.
