Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, presenting a 1990 Peterbilt Tractor Truck (County tag number 200178) as surplus to the needs of the County and recommending the Board so declare and authorize disposal of same in accordance with the procedures outlined in the County's Purchasing Ordinance, Chapter 3.12 and Section 3.12.220 thereof.

Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Transportation purchased a new International 3-axle heavy hauler model #990I SFA 6x4 truck with Grant Funding from the Sacramento Area Council of Governments and Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District under the Sacramento Emergency Clean Air Transportation (SECAT) Agreement #VET 08-0048 which the Board approved on December 16, 2008 (item 32). Revisions to this agreement were also approved by the Board on January 9, 2009 (item 39).
A condition of this Grant agreement is the destruction of the replaced vehicle by a qualified salvage operator so that the replaced vehicle is removed from possible use.

Action to be taken following approval: Upon approval of the recommendation, the Department of Transportation will comply with the terms of the Grant funding agreement and ensure the destruction of the 1990 Peterbilt Tractor Truck (County tag number 200178).
