Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Assessors' office has contracted with MetroList for 9+ years. This contract allows the Assessor access to real estate information from MetroLlist. MetroList is the principal online real estate listing service and contains a variety of information about local properties. Access to this information is vital to our appraisal and assessment of property that undergoes an assessable change in ownership. In addition, it allows staff to verify the correctness of property characteristics. Some aspects of the MetroList information is confidential and each appraiser with access to the program executes a written acknowledgement of that confidentiality. Approval of this contract improves the efficiency of appraisal operations.

The current contract expired August 31, 2021, work began on the new contract in June of 2021. The retroactive nature of this contract is due to the time frame needed to acquire confirmation of the cost associated with the contract from the vendor.

ALTERNATIVES
Not approving this contract would eliminate the ability of the Assessors' staff access to the vital information contained in the MetroList database. Not having the access would affect the efficiency of the department.
