There is no fiscal impact and no change to Net County Cost associated with this item.
 
Background:
The annual Christmas "Parade of Lights" event is sponsored by the Georgetown Rotary Club. The requested road closures are to ensure the safety of the participants, volunteers and spectators during the event.
 
Reason for Recommendation:
The Department of Transportation is recommending the Board approve the proposed Resolution for the safety and success of this annual community event. No involved agencies objected to this closure.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. The Board Clerk will obtain the Chairman's signature on the Resolution.
2. The Board Clerk will send an executed copy of the Resolution to the Department of Transportation.
 
Action to be taken by the Department following Board approval:
1. The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2009, for the annual Christmas "Parade of Lights" event.
