2) Rescind Resolution 140-2021, upon adoption of Resolution 004-2022 that replaces Resolution 140-2021.

 

FUNDING:   State Funding:  100% California Department of Housing and Community Development.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:

On September 21, 2021, under Board Item 21-1612, Agenda No. 14, the Board adopted Resolution 140-2021, authorizing the HHSA Director to apply for and accept Round 2 of funding for the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) Housing Navigation Program (HNP) in the amount of $26,855. 

 

On December 7, 2021, the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) received notice from HCD that the Resolution approved and signed September 21, 2021, needed to be revised to state “Whereas, the State of California, Department of Housing and Community Development (“Department”) issued an Allocation Acceptance form, dated October 1, 2021 under the Housing Navigators Program (“HNP Program”) for $5,000,000 authorized by Item 2240-103-0001 of Section 2.00 of the Budget Act of 2019 (SB 109), as amended by Section 2.00 of Chapter 21 of the Statutes of 2021 (AB 128).” Upon receipt of said notice, HHSA staff prepared a revised resolution for the next available Board Agenda.

 

ALTERNATIVES:

Should the Board decline to adopt and sign the revised resolution, HHSA will not be eligible for the award of funding to support young adults who have gone through the foster care system in securing and maintaining housing.

 

PRIOR BOARD ACTION:

Board Item 21-1612, Agenda No. 14 and Resolution 140-2021, adopted and approved by the BOS on 9/21/21.

 

OTHER DEPARTMENT / AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

Approved by County Counsel.

 

CAO RECOMMENDATION:

Approve as recommended.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agenda item. Sufficient revenue and appropriations were included in the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Budget.
