Sheriff’s Office recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to execute:
1) Reimbursement Agreement 6391 between the County and the City of Placerville for reimbursement of funds in the amount of $12,000 for the grant performance period that ends May 31, 2022 from the Fiscal Year 2019 Homeland Security Grant for the purchase of high durability Computer Tablets for the Placerville Police Department; and
2) Reimbursement Agreement 6390 between the County and the City of Placerville for reimbursement of funds in the amount of $21,500 for the grant performance period that ends May 31, 2023 from the Fiscal Year 2020 Homeland Security Grant for the purchase of high durability Computer Tablets for the Placerville Police Department.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 8, 2003, the Board created an Approval Authority to distribute Homeland Security Grant funds to local eligible entities. This Approval Authority has approved the reimbursement agreements totaling $32,500 to the City of Placerville from the Fiscal Year 2019 and 2020 Homeland Security Grants for the update to purchase Getac Tablets to be utilized by Placerville Police Department.
The Approval Authority consists of representatives from the City of Placerville, and South Lake Tahoe Police Departments, the Sheriff’s Office, Public Health, and Fire Districts.
On June 23, 2015, the Board of Supervisors reaffirmed the creation of an Approval Authority to distribute the Grant funds at the local level.
The Homeland Security Grant program provides funding for planning, equipment, training, exercises, and management/administrative costs to help fulfill one of the core missions of the Federal Department of Homeland Security by enhancing the country's ability to prepare for, prevent, respond to and recover from potential attacks and other hazards.
