Background: On September 28, 2006 the Board of Supervisors and the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians (Tribe) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding and Intergovernmental Agreement. This agreement represented a concerted effort to achieve a positive and constructive resolution of significant issues that previously obstructed the government-to-government relationship between the County and the Tribe. The Agreement called for certain payments from the Tribe to the County.
