DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 5, 2022, the Board heard the Introduction (First Reading) of Ordinance 5159 5161 and Continued this matter to May 10, 2022 for Final Passage (Second Reading).
When the Board passed Ordinance No. 5051 on April 18, 2017, it amended several sections of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code to eliminate the Community Development Agency and re-establish separate departments of Environmental Management, Planning and Building, and Transportation. Title 12 of the County Ordinance Code Section is Streets, Sidewalks and Public Places. There are sections in Chapter 12.04 that still include references to the "Director of the Community Development Agency." Since Ordinance 5051 eliminated the Community Development Agency, it is necessary to change these references from "Director of the Community Development Agency" to "Director of Department of Transportation." This proposed ordinance will implement those changes.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to approve this recommendation, which would result in no change to the current ordinance.
