1) Recommending the Board discontinue negotiations regarding the real properties described as 1940 Broadway, Placerville CA, 95667, Mother Lode Motel (APN 048-350-018-000) and 1970 Broadway, Placerville, CA 95667, Gold Trail Motor Lodge (APN 048-350-020-000); and
2) Provide any additional direction to staff regarding homeless shelters.
FUNDING: State and Federal grant funds including but may not be limited to Emergency Services Grants - Coronavirus; Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention; Community Development Block Grant program - Coronavirus Response.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 25, 2022, the Board provided direction to staff to negotiate with the owners of the 1940 and 1970 Broadway properties for use of the sites as potential short term, non-congregate, homeless shelters. Staff have been unable to reach acceptable terms with the owners. Staff is recommending the Board discontinue negotiations for these properties.
Staff continue to pursue a congregate site at Perks Court and will return to the Board at the end of July with a progress report on the status of a homeless shelter at this site.

There are no reasonable alternatives for negotiations at this time.
