Chief Administrative Office, Facilities Division, recommending the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign the First Amendment to Lease 254-L1811 with the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce to extend the term through August 31, 2027, for use of the property located at 542 Main Street, Placerville.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On December 12, 2017, the Board executed Lease 254-L1811 with the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce for use of the property located at 542 Main Street, Placerville for a term of five years in the sum of one dollar ($1.00) per year. 

 

Section 3, Extension Provisions, allows for two additional five-year periods should the Chamber of Commerce request that of the County within 60 days prior to expiration of the lease. 

 

The County received the extension request from the Chamber of Commerce on March 11, 2022, and it is recommended the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign the First Amendment to Lease 254-L1811, extending the lease an additional five years through August 31, 2027.  Other changes to the Lease include ancillary updates to Notice to Parties, Waiver, Force Majeure, and Electronic Signatures.

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could decline this extension and the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce would need to find a different location to operate.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
