Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Information Technologies Department has been working with the Human Resources Department to develop a new classification that will facilitate the County’s ongoing transition to M365 and other cloud-based systems. This classification will be a subject matter expert helping with migration activities to the cloud, assume responsibility for the current cloud administration activities, and develop a strategy to continuously assess and improve upon the County’s Information Technology cloud environment. The creation of this new classification is necessary to provide consolidation of duties shared by several different classifications within Information Technologies and follows the direction other public agencies are moving toward to help address the rapidly changing demands placed on Information Technologies. This classification will help the Information Technologies Department deliver the expected level of operations from their stakeholders.

ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to adopt the new class specification of Information Technology Analyst - Cloud Systems and direct Human Resources to make revisions or conduct further additional analysis.
