DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On February 10, 2004, the Board of Supervisors, in coordination with the University of California Cooperative Extension, created the El Dorado County Youth Commission. Oversight of the Commission transferred to the El Dorado County Office of Education in 2011 as the objectives of the Commission aligned more closely with the programs within the Office of Education’s purview.

The purpose of the Youth Commission is to collect all information relevant to advising the Board of Supervisors on the effects of legislative policies, needs, assessments, priorities, programs, and budgets concerning the children and youth of El Dorado County.
