DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On September 13, 2022, the Board directed staff to begin a subsequent recruitment for the Chief Administrative Officer position, which will become vacant upon the pending retirement of the current incumbent, Don Ashton. A previous recruitment, overseen by County Human Resources, commenced in July of this year, and yielded three highly-ranked candidates who were interviewed and will remain on an eligibility list. The Board is interested in increasing the pool of eligible candidates and has directed the County to enter an Agreement with the Greg Prothman Company, an outside executive recruitment firm, to assist in the search.

ALTERNATIVES
The Board could direct Human Resources to conduct a subsequent recruitment or explore the use of a different vendor.
