Title

Coloma Lotus Advisory Committee to discuss a possible amendment to the Coloma Lotus Advisory Committee Resolution 078-2019.

Body

The resolution establishing the Coloma Lotus Advisory Committee is attached and is also available here: https://www.edcgov.us/Government/planning/Documents/CLAC%20Agendas/ExecutedResolution_078-2019.pdf

As regards Commercial Boating Representation it currently reads: “There shall be one outfitter representative who shall be an owner or operator of a business possessing a valid River Use Permit for the South Fork of the American River.”

The individual who currently holds that seat is retiring from outfitting this year.  The outfitters on the South Fork are working with that individual with plans to put into place a 501(c)(6) trade association which will represent them dealing with agencies, government entities, utilities and others.  If that comes to pass, and if those outfitters wish to continue to use their current representative, they would like the flexibility to possibly use that trade association representative and are asking the Board of Supervisors to amend the original resolution with the following language:

“There shall be one outfitter representative who shall be an owner, operator or employee of a business possessing a valid River Use Permit for the South Fork of the American River or a designated representative of the relevant South Fork American River outfitter trade association.”

Supervisor Parlin has asked us to let her know if we, as a Commission, would like to see that change.
