DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

At the request of the Sheriff’s Office, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued Invitation to Bid 23-465-006 for the purchase of ZOLL AED 3 Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Accessories. An AED is a device designed to analyze the heart rhythm and deliver an electric shock to victims of heart attack to restore the heart rhythm to normal.  These devices will be placed in Sheriff patrol vehicles for emergency use. The Invitation to Bid was published in the County's eProcurement system, PlanetBids, nine (9) responses were received.

 

ALTERNATIVES

Without the new medical appliances, public health and safety would be put at risk.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
