DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The Mosquito Fire began on September 6, 2022, and caused the evacuation of residents in the northern area of the County.  The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection contacted the County shortly thereafter and requested use of a portion of the parking lot at 130 Placerville Drive for overflow fire emergency vehicle parking.

Administrative staffing shortages within the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection caused the Emergency Facilities & Land Use Agreement to be sent to the County after their needed use dates of September 14, 2022, through September 27, 2022, and the agreement was executed on November 2, 2022. The agreement provides for $100 revenue per day of use for a total amount owed to the County of $1,400.  Due to the retroactive nature of this agreement, it is requested the Board approve and ratify the Chief Administrative Officer's signature on Agreement No. 6988.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could not approve and ratify the Chief Administrative Officer's signature and the County will forfeit $1,400 in revenue.
