DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
At the request of the Health and Human Services Agency, Human Resources analyzed the minimum qualifications for the Psychiatric Technician I/II class specification. As a result of the analysis and in collaboration with the Health and Human Services Agency's Behavioral Health Division, Human Resources recommends the current Psychiatric Technician I/II licensure requirements should be updated to reflect the standard of the County’s comparators. The change will increase the number of qualified candidates and will not have a negative impact on employees currently performing the duties of the job.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to approve the revised class specification and direct Human Resources to explore other options or revisions.
