DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

As part of Objective 2.2 of the Good Governance Goal in the Board approved Strategic Plan, Board policies are undergoing a review/update process.  On July 23, 2019, the Board of Supervisors adopted changes to Policy K-1 - Injury and Illness Prevention Program.  Human Resources is recommending an extension of the sunset date for Policy K-1 Injury Illness and Prevention Program to October 18, 2023.  This extension will allow additional time to incorporate recent regulatory updates and to finalize other changes in anticipation of seeking Board approval.

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may choose not to extend the sunset date for policy K-1 Injury Illness and Prevention Program and direct to staff to take other action.

 

PRIOR BOARD ACTION

On July 23, 2019, the Board of Supervisors adopted updates to Policy K-1- Injury Illness and Prevention Program (Legistar 19-1075).
