DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The State of California, Strategic Growth Council (“SGC”) is administering a grant for Round 1 of the Community Resilience Centers (“CRC”) Program. Round 1 of the CRC Program has approximately $100 million in grant funding for competitive awards.

The CRC Program requires the applicant’s governing body to declare by resolution that the applicant is authorized to apply for grant funds and authorizing the Parks Manager to execute and submit all documents including the grant application. If awarded, the Parks Manager shall return to the Board of Supervisors for the acceptance of grant funds.

This grant opportunity would be for the Diamond Springs Community Park to fund a resilience center to provide shelter and resources during climate and other emergencies, as well as year-round services and programming that strengthen community connections and ability to withstand disasters.

ALTERNATIVES
Should the Board not approve this item, the Parks Division will not submit an application for this grant opportunity.
