DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 8, 2003, the Board created an Approval Authority to distribute Homeland Security Grant funds to local eligible entities. This Approval Authority has approved the reimbursement agreements totaling $50,000 to the City of Placerville from the Fiscal Year 2021 and 2022 Homeland Security Grants for the purchase of a utility terrain vehicle, all-terrain vehicles, and a utility trailer utilized by Placerville Police Department.

The Approval Authority consists of representatives from the City of Placerville and South Lake Tahoe Police Departments, the Sheriff’s Office, Public Health, and Fire Districts.

On June 23, 2015, the Board of Supervisors reaffirmed the creation of an Approval Authority to distribute the Grant funds at the local level.
