DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
On October 1, 2019, HHSA Public Health Division (PHD) received funding through the CDPH Grant 19-10372 to implement the CalFresh Healthy Living Program in the County with the purpose of providing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) allowable nutrition education and obesity prevention activities and interventions for low-income Californians under the CalFresh Healthy Living Program. Under this Grant Agreement, HHSA PHD was awarded a total of $637,500 and can expend these funds on the County’s SNAP-Ed Program through September 30, 2023.
