Sheriff’s Office recommending the Board:
1) Award Request for Proposal 23-725-063 for the purchase of fixed modulation internet protocol transport microwave system to the low qualified bidder, Alpha Omega Wireless, Inc;
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order in the amount of $150,302.45 plus applicable taxes and fees; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the purchase order on an “as needed” basis during the awarded period as long as funding is available within the requesting department’s budget.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On July 19, 2023, Procurement and Contracts determined that Alpha Omega Wireless, Inc., was the lowest qualified bidder in response to RFP 23-725-063. The specifications provided from Alpha Omega Inc. were acceptable to the Sheriff’s Office, and the Sheriff’s Office is requesting acceptance of the bid submittal in the amount of $150,302.45.
The fixed modulation IP transport microwave system will connect four radio sites together with microwave radios which is necessary for the radio system upgrade to allow for simulcasting while improving Deputy safety in the field and updating our Dispatch Center. The purchase will also allow for improvements in the future and include the ability to monitor these four radio sites for environmental conditions, power, and alarms.
