DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The County of El Dorado Probation Department (Probation) has established the Juvenile Treatment Center (JTC) in the city of South Lake Tahoe for the temporary or long-term commitment of youth detained in accordance with the provisions of the California Welfare and Institutions Code.
The County of Inyo Probation Department (Inyo) has been contracting with Probation since October 11, 2016, for space-available beds for Inyo youth. Inyo desires to enter this additional agreement with Probation to reserve one bed space. Inyo will pay El Dorado County $205.47 per day for an unfilled reserved bed or filled reserved bed for youth in standard programming, $400 per day for youth in Commitment Programming, and $475 per day for youth in Juvenile Detention Facility Secure Track Program.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could not approve the agreement. This agreement promotes goodwill and reciprocity of assistance between local counties.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
