DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On December 31, 2022, the El Dorado County Sheriff, in his capacity as Director of the Office of Emergency Services, pursuant to Government Code Section 8630, proclaimed a local emergency based on conditions relating to the December 2022 Storms.

The Resolution was ratified on January 3, 2023, by the Board of Supervisors and said that the Local Emergency would continue in effect until terminated by the Board. Ending the emergency is now an appropriate step for the Board of Supervisors to take, as the condition of extreme period from an imminent and proximate threat from the December 2022 Storms is removed.
