Body

In September 2022, the Community Corrections Partnership approved a contract with Rane Community Development, to assist the Executive Committee in updating the Public Safety Realignment Plan.

In May of 2023, key stakeholders of El Dorado County’s Community Corrections Partnership met over a two-day workshop to discuss the purpose and intent of the public safety realignment, local impacts, needs, opportunities, and challenges, and to develop strategic directions to advance and support public safety under California’s Public Safety Realignment (AB 109) and subsequent related legislation. (Workshop Meeting Summary and Notes are contained in File Item 23-1231.)

During late Spring and Summer of 2023, Rane Community Development worked with El Dorado County (EDC) justice stakeholders to examine opportunities to improve public safety under California’s Public Safety Realignment, and as implemented by EDC’s Community Corrections Partnership (CCP). Attached to this item is the documented findings from those stakeholder interviews called Stakeholder Interview Findings, Attachment C.

As a result, Rane Community Development has submitted a Planning Recommendation document (attachment B) for approval and is requesting approval on the recommended next steps outlined in the PowerPoint (attachment A) to complete the strategic plan and to develop the funding plan.
