Title
Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, recommending the Board declare four (4) handguns as surplus and approve the sale of duty weapons to retiring/former Sheriff's Office employees.
Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The Sheriff's Office Armory will receive the funds paid by the retiring employees and purchase replacement weapons.

Reason for Recommendation: Jeff Neves, Robert Engler, Steven Parker and Greg Murphy, recently left service as Sheriff and Deputies with El Dorado County Sheriff's Office and desire to purchase their service weapons. Since these are current weapons issued by the Sheriff's Office, policy requires that the employees purchase the weapon for the exact amount it would cost the Sheriff's Office to replace the weapon. The replacement value, as quoted by Big Horn Gunshop is $443.77 each for three Glock handguns and LC Action is $200 for one Smith and Wesson handgun, for a total of $1,531.31 including sales tax.

Action to be taken following Board approval: Upon approval of the recommendation, the Procurement and Contracts Division will process the necessary surplus property transfer request, and the Sheriff's Office shall execute a sale of the duty weapons through Big Horn Gunshop
