Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The total funding for this revenue generating agreement is $137,239. Funding from this grant was anticipated and included in the Department’s FY 2009/10 budget. There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agreement.

Background: El Dorado County Health Services Department, Mental Health Division (MHD), has utilized Community Mental Health Services Block Grant (MHBG) funding since 1997 to address the needs of County minors diagnosed with a serious emotional disturbance and residing in the Juvenile Hall or Juvenile Treatment Center. Many of these individuals have a concurrent identified substance abuse diagnosis.

Reason for Recommendation: This agreement will allow for continued support of programs to address the needs of minors with a serious emotional disturbance in the Juvenile Hall in Placerville and the Juvenile Treatment Center in South Lake Tahoe. Services proposed include initial assessments, individual and group therapy, family sessions, and discharge planning.

This agreement covers the period of July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
