Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Increase requested and directly reimbursed by Sheriff's Office. Increase will not affect IT's Net County Cost.

Background:
Sacramento County Office of Computer and Information Technology (OCIT) maintains California Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems (CLETS) and the Sacramento County Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI/National Crime Information Center - NCIC) and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Information Technologies (IT), on behalf of El Dorado County, contracts annually with Sacramento County OCIT to facilitate the access of criminal justice data systems for law enforcement and support departments including the Sheriff's Office, Probation, District Attorney, DCSS and Human Services. IT administers this contract because we are responsible for managing the data transfer between the two agencies. This agreement is a perpetual contract commencing on July 1, 2009 and will renew automatically every year on this same date. OCIT will inform Information Technologies in writing of the updated pricing for each year, within ninety days of the renewal date, and IT will aprise the Board of this amount annually as we do with all of our perpetual agreements.

Reason for Recommendation:
Recently, the Sheriff's Office requested an increase in the number of devices licensed to access Criminal Justice Information. This increase added 60 mobile devices in order for officers to be able to access data in the field. IT is recommending approval and execution of Amendment 1 to perpetual Agreement 803-S0911 with Sacramento County OCIT to continue the ability to access important criminal justice information for the end user departments.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
Board Clerk to return original executed contracts to IT to be forwarded to Sacramento County for approval and signature.

Board to direct Purchasing Agent to revise Blanket Purchase Order upon receipt of fully executed contract.
