REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: The Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for Food Products and Kitchen Supplies for County wide use in the jails, detention centers, mental health facilities, and the senior nutrition centers on both the East and West slope. The bid was broken down into six (6) categories, requesting primary vendors to bid 100% of all items and secondary vendors bid on only the categories they wish to supply the County as an alternate vendor.

Twenty-one (21) invitations to bid were mailed, three (3) bidders responded as primary vendors, but all three (3) bids had to be rejected. Two (2) of the bidders submitted additional terms and conditions with the County bid documents, and one (1) bidder was rejected for the use of correction tape on their quotation schedule. One (1) vendor qualified as a secondary vendor for the West Slope for Dairy products.
