Background:
On November 15, 2009 the Board requested that the Chief Administrative Office in conjunction with County Counsel conduct a review and provide a general assessment of the Child Protective Services program in the Department of Human Services.
Reason for Recommendation:
CAO staff has reviewed the Child Protective Services system and processes; reviewed key outcome measures as defined by Federal and State requirement, including a comparison to statewide data and other comparator agencies; interviewed and received input and information from key participants in the local child welfare system; and is providing a general assessment of the Child Protective Services program in the County of El Dorado.
