Reason for Recommendation:
The contract for the Latrobe Road Realignment, Widening and Bridge Project, Suncast Lane to Golden Foothill Parkway (Project) in El Dorado Hills was approved by the Board on April 1, 2008. At the time of writing this agenda item, there are a few remaining punchlist items that still need to be completed. The Transportation Department (Department) anticipates the Project will be completed by March 5, 2010. Execution of the Notice of Acceptance will start legal time frames for guarantees, a lien period and return of retention monies. The estimated total cost of this Project is listed below.

Estimated Construction Contract Item Cost $6,624,443.31
Estimated Supplemental Work* $ 184,977.36
Estimated Contract Change Orders $ 828,446.85
Estimated Final Cost of Construction Contract $7,637,867.52
*Supplemental work includes flagging and traffic control, storm water pollution prevention and dust control.

Major contract Change Orders on this Project dealt with the addition of median curbs, temporary sewer line and bridge acceleration.

The construction budget for this Project, as reflected in the Department's 2008 Capital Improvement Program, was $9,960,000. It is not anticipated that the costs listed above will change significantly.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) The Chair will sign the Notice of Acceptance.
