Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  None.  The fiscal impact of a potential acquisition of the property will by analyzed upon conclusion of negotiations.
 
Background:   This property is approximately 2.0 acres, located on the east side of Missouri Flat Road, south of Highway 50.  It has a structure of approximately 7,264 square feet on it.  It has a general plan designation of Industrial and is zoned Industrial.  It may have utility to the County as a storage facility for excess equipment and vehicles.  Our corporation yard is overburdened in this respect.  
 
Staff is asking for authority to enter into negotiations with the owner of the property to determine whether an acquisition is possible under the terms deemed acceptable to the County.  The terms of the negotiation will be discussed with the Board in closed session.  
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:  Staff will meet with the Board in closed session to discuss the terms of negotiation and will proceed to contact the owner of the property, the Bahlman Family Trust, represented by Doug Bahlman.  The County negotiators will be Louis Green, County Counsel, and Jim Ware, Director of Transportation.
