Title
Sheriff's Department recommending the Board adopt a Resolution changing the names of authorized Sheriff Department staff who can execute grant documents necessary for the purpose of obtaining or managing federal financial assistance provided by the federal Department of Homeland Security and subgranted through the State of California.

FUNDING: Homeland Security Grants.
Resolution 039-2010
Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No Net County Cost

Background: In FY 2007 and 2008, the Sheriff's Department brought Resolution 209-2007, and 202-2008, requesting Board authorization for Department staff to execute grant applications and other related documents to obtain Homeland Security Grant funding. The individuals named in those earlier resolutions are no longer employed by the County. No grant claims, or modifications can be made until the Board authorizes, by resolution, new Authorized Agents for the current, open grants.

Reason for Recommendation: To allow the Sheriff's Department to submit claims and modifications for the FY 2007, and 2008 Homeland Security Grants.

Action to be taken following Board approval: Board to sign and return 2 signed original Resolutions to Sheriff/OES for FY 2007 and FY 2008 Grants. Original Resolutions will be forwarded to Cal EMA.
