There is no impact to the General Fund and no net County cost associated with this item. Funding is provided through the Road Fund.

Background:
The County of Sacramento is considering applications for the expansion of aggregate mining facilities located in the eastern area of Sacramento County. If approved, the proposed expansion will have a positive impact on Sacramento's future economy. However, Sacramento County is aware adjacent communities and agencies are concerned about the potential negative impact to roadways and traffic in the greater regional area. To better understand the concerns of stakeholders, Sacramento County has taken the lead role in a collaborative planning process.

This collaboration includes the Counties of El Dorado and Sacramento, the Cities of Rancho Cordova and Folsom, the Capital Southeast Connector Joint Powers Authority, and the Folsom Sphere of Influence Landowners. The group, in conjunction with the aggregate mining companies, Teichert, Granite, and DeSilva Gates, is funding a traffic study and development of a management plan, i.e., the East Sacramento Region Aggregate Mining Truck Management Plan (TMP).
