Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Installation of the speed limit signs on various roads is estimated at $1,500.00 and is available in fiscal year 2010-11 Road Fund Budget.

Reason for Recommendation: Resolution No. 247-81 established speed restrictions pursuant to Section 10.08.020 of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code. Approval of the attached resolution by the Board of Supervisors amends Resolution No. 247-81 to include revisions recommended by the West Slope Traffic Advisory Committee on March 17, 2010.

The revisions at the specific sites listed below are to be carried out in accordance with the attached Resolution (Attachment A). Add or amend speed limits upon:

Fairplay Road (No.106) twenty-five (25) miles per hour Playground Speed Limit adjacent to Pioneer Park beginning at a point 350 feet west of Perry Creek Road and continuing to a point 525 feet east of Perry Creek Road. (Attachment B)

Meder Road (No. 135) forty (40) miles per hour for its entire length. (Attachment C)

Ponderosa Road (No.5) Forty (40) miles per hour from its intersection with North Shingle Road (No.6) to a point 475 feet south of Mineshaft Lane (No.1119) and from that point proceeding north, thirty (30) miles per hour to a point 100 feet north of Jackpine Road (No.1090). (Attachment D)

Action to be taken following Board approval: Installation of appropriate speed limit signs by the Department of Transportation.
