Elections Department recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Authorize the Registrar of Voters to execute Grant Funding Agreement 23G27109 for activities to improve the administration of elections for Federal office; and
2) Approve and authorize a budget amendment to increase revenue and appropriations to the Elections Department for Fiscal Year 2023-24 for $135,000. (4/5 vote required)

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Secretary of State, through the U.S. Elections Administration Commission, has made $135,000 available for Help America Vote Act (HAVA) grant reimbursement funds to the Elections Department.
This funding is provided for activities to improve the administration of elections for Federal office, including to enhance election technology and make election security improvements. The Elections Department will use the funds to reimburse the Facilities Department for funds from the Elections Department office move project that have already been spent out of the General Fund for this current fiscal year, Fiscal Year 2023-24. The Elections Department will secure reimbursement for security monitoring and badge access.
