REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of the Environmental Management Department, the Procurement and Contracts Division requested competitive proposals for household hazardous waste transport and disposal services.

Twenty (20) notices of solicitation were mailed. Four (4) qualified responses were received from:

Green Works Environmental Services of Templeton, California
Filter Recycling, Services, Inc. of Rialto, California
Phillips Services Company of Benicia, California
CleanHarbors Environmental Services of San Jose, California

No local firms provide this service.

In accordance with Board of Supervisors Policy C-17, Section 7.10, outside review of proposal responses was coordinated with staff from the City of Folsom (Rod Miller, Recycling Technician) and internal staff within the Environmental Management Department.
