Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There will be no net county cost. The attached budget transfer will establish both the revenue and appropriation for use of these funds.
Background: During the budget process use of this grant had not been established so funding wasn't incorporated into the District Attonrey's budget. In April 2010, the District Attorney's Office got approval by the Department of Justice to utilize these funds to purchase a new scanner and laptops for personnel.
Reason for Recommendation: The original proposal for use of the 2008 JAG grant was to fund a Privacy and Piracy program. Subsequently, the District Attorney's Office received two grants to fund the same project. The District Attorney's Office elected to submit a budget modification to the Department of Justice to purchase much needed equipment for the department. This modification was approved in April.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Chair to sign the budget transfer and forward to the auditors office for posting.
