Title
Human Resources Department recommending the Board of Supervisors:
1) Approve a change in job classification title from "Waste Recycling Technician" to "Hazardous Materials/Recycling Technician;" and
2) Approve revisions to the classification specification.
Body

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None

Background: The Environmental Management Department has requested revisions to the current classification specification of Waste Recycling Technician.  The title of Hazardous Materials/Recycling Technician more accurately describes the classification as revised.

Reason for Recommendation:  It is necessary to review and modify classification specifications in order to maintain the County's classification plan.  After reviewing this classification, it is necessary to make changes, including a title change.  The proposed revisions update the classification specification to reflect current duties and requirements of the classification.  There is no change to the salary range for the classification.  The department's personnel allocation will be revised to reflect the change during the FY 2010-11 budget process.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  The Human Resources Department will update the classification file for this classification specification, and modify the salary schedule to reflect the change in title.
