Through an agreement between the County and Caltrans, $359,164 in federal funding (Section 182.6 of the Streets and Highways Code) is being exchanged for a like amount of State funds. An additional $100,000 of State Matching funds (Section 182.9 of the Streets and Highways Code) is also being made available. By exchanging the Federal monies with State monies, funds become less restrictive in use. The funds will be used as a match on existing and anticipated federal safety and bridge grants. The portion allocated to the Tahoe Basin will be used for routine maintenance.
