Supervisor Santiago recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Receive a presentation by Wendy Wood, Executive Director of the Family Connections El Dorado/Family Resource Center; and
2) Adopt a Proclamation to Tish Langston, for Her Many Years of Service with Family Connections. (Est. Time: 15 Min. )
Body
Wendy will present a general description of services, what it means to be a family resource center, and the strengths of their approach. Also, she will present their efforts related to child abuse prevention, early intervention and treatment of traumatized children and families who have been exposed to violence in this community. She will discuss the collaborative relationships with public and private entities and address the need to enhance services, the gaps in current services and the risk of not doing so.
The Board of Supervisors will present a proclamation honoring Tish Langston for her many years of service with Family Connections.
