Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agreement.

Background: The County of El Dorado Health Services Department, in collaboration with the Superior Court, has applied for and received a Collaborative Justice grant annually since FY 2001-02. These funds have been used to support and enhance the Juvenile Drug Court program, which has been highly successful in providing substance abuse prevention, education, intervention and treatment for the youth of the County of El Dorado throughout the nine years since its inception.

Following full application, notification of program funding status will be provided shortly after confirmation of funding in the 2010 State Budget; final awards will be made contingent upon the passage of the budget.

Compensation for Services: Grant funds will be reimbursed on a monthly basis upon receipt of required invoices for approved expenses during the contract period.

Reason for Recommendation: Authorization for the Health Services Department to submit a Letter of Intent and subsequent full application in collaboration with the Superior Court will enable both parties to continue the Juvenile Drug Court program.
