Title
Supervisor Briggs recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture in support of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians' loan application for the construction of a new Health Clinic facility.
Body
Supervisor Briggs recommends the Board authorize the Chairman to sign a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture in support of the Shingle Springs Bank of Miwok Indians' loan application for the construction of a new Health Clinic facility in El Dorado County.  The new facility will provide much needed medical services to residents of El Dorado County.

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is seeking to build a 39,000 square foot facility, scheduled to open in the fall of 2011.  Currently, the Shingle Springs Tribal Health Program is one of just three facilities in the El Dorado County area that provide care to Medi-cal patients.  There is a strong need to expand the medical services available within El Dorado County in order to meet the needs of county residents.
